Fashion Week San Diego 2016
Oct 15, 2016

We celebrate our forth year with Fashion Week San Diego. As Creative-Directors, we are challenged with providing fashion-forward thinking with hairstyles for the big runway shows. We draw inspiration, globally and locally. We take special interest by creating looks that can translate into easy wearability for our everyday client.

Each year our lead stylists, Karla Lopez-Martinez, Nadia Provenzano, and Michael Soberanes work year around in developing the looks not only for these fall shows, but for the dozen of events, tv appearances and photo shoots for FWSD.

FWSD hosted 26 talented designers from various backgrounds and styles, making it challenging to compose looks which would work with all their various designs.  We designed the looks to be best experienced from the seats of the audience, giving you something to feel and uniquely experience, like an Ansel Adams, or a Rembrandt work of art.

Our two looks showcased different silhouettes. The models were styled to either wear their hair completely up or half up and half down. The contrast flowed perfectly with the fashions worn by the models. Look one (Friday) is a Mohawk-Crimped-Twisted Bun. Look two (Saturday) is the Chain-Knott Braid, a new braiding technique developed by our Master Stylist Michael Soberanes. It was accessorized with Waxed-Cord to show the detail from afar.

These two styles are replicated on 80 plus models by our hard working team of hairdressers. Our Backstage team, nearly 60 strong, comprised of Makeup State of Mind and Bellus Beauty Academy. Without the voluntary hard and passionate work by each individual, this event could not of had the creative success it had. We had a blast collaborating and watching the end result woking the runway. Seeing your looks complete on the runway, in photographs and print work, make the hard work extremely rewarding.

We are blessed to be part of such an amazing organization of talented artists and designers. And guess what?…. We are already working on #FWSD17 and looking forward to bringing you a more thrilling experience next year. These events by FWSD are open to the public. We invite you to join the fun and experience it for yourself. See you on the runway!
