Audition Questions:
Q. What positions are Gila Rut Aveda Salons Hiring for?
A. We are looking for licensed cosmetologists who want to work at
one of the best salons in Southern California. We are hiring primarily
for our Otay Ranch location.
Q. Are you looking for both Stylists & Colorists?
A. Yes, we are looking for both. Gila Rut Aveda Salons are a specialized
salon.
Q. What does “Specialized Salon” mean?
A. Gila Rut Salon believes that in order to master your career,
you must first focus on where your talent lies. We have an extensive
training program that will enable you to focus on that talent and
become even more successful with your career.
Q. What is the pay structure at Gila Rut Salon?
A. Gila Rut Salon is a commission- based salon.
Q. How can I prepare for the audition?
A. You will first need to come into either location and fill out
an application and drop off your resume. We will contact you to
set up a working interview.
Q. What can I expect the day of the audition?
A. When you arrive, proceed to the registration area for check-in.
Upon registration; you will be assigned to a station.
You will be expected to deliver your consultation to one of our
educators before starting your service on your model. The audition
will last approx. 3 hours. You may be asked to stay and interview
after your audition. This process could take up to 2 additional
hours.
Q. How should I be dressed for the audition?
A. At Gila Rut Aveda Salon, we enforce a dress code of 90% black
with 10% color (10% can be used for different colored accessories
example: shoes, belts, jewelry). Hair and makeup are required.
Q. What should I bring to the preliminary audition?
A. * All stylists bring your haircutting tools; shears, thinning
shears, clippers, and razors.
* All colorists are to bring their own color line. (Gila Rut Salon
will not be providing you with color on that day).
* Both stylists and colorists bring your own combs, brushes, clips,
blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons.
Q. Can my family or friends come to watch the audition?
A. No. Because space is limited, we request that only you and your
model come to the audition.
Q. If I’m selected as a finalist, what can I expect?
A. You will be called to come back for an official interview with
the owners/managers of Gila Rut Salon. The interview will last 30-45
minutes. During this time you will be asked to introduce yourself
and answer questions regarding your career interests. Questions
will be answered about Gila Rut Salon and their job package.
Q. How are finalists notified if they are hired with Gila
Rut Salon?
A. Gila Rut Salon will contact you within 3 days of your audition.
Q. If I am a new stylist, right out of school, do I still need to bring a model?
A. Yes, we would like to see what kind of work you are doing.
